Hi All,
When I first rescued my new puppy, "Smiles" from the Humane Society dog-pound,
I was wondering if he would be alright with me out on the Campaign-trail? "No worries, mates."
Smiles is a natural people person! Folks all over are very attracted to him,
and everyone seems to have a great deal of fun trying to figure out what breed he is.
One fellow looked at him and said , "Oh, he's a Collie!" I thought, "Hmmm ... Well, maybe not a Collie."
After much talk and consultation with veterinarians, dog-lovers of all sorts, and total strangers,
I finally met someone who raises dogs like "Smiles." The most up-to-date decision from our latest expert is:
"Smiles," the Campaign Mascot ... is an Australian Ridgeback.
Here is a photo that looks very much like him.
I'll be getting some actual photos of "Smiles" on-line soon to share with you.
Thanks everyone. More to come about "Smiles." All the best, JeanMarie

Letters and comments
I met Jean Marie Christenson when she first began her campaign. What drew me to her was her energy, passion and her honest desire to do the right thing for the people and the district.
I found it hard to keep up with her. For the past six months she has been to every council meeting, land development meeting and forum she could find. Not having the advantage of incumbency, she has met and worked with people on both sides of the political isle. She has gained the respect and support of many public officials and legislators.
Jean Marie is great at getting things done. She single handedly created the Candidate Forums at the Old General Store & Steakhouse in Roy where she brought public officials from all over the state to speak. She has attracted a huge amount of attention to the district. In fact, people tell me she has brought a new interest and energy back into local politics.
Jean Marie Christenson can’t be bought, she won’t sell her vote. Her allegiance is to the district and not to any party. She’s a leader, she listens and she’s thoughtful about the issues.
Jean Marie advocates for our children and their education and she supports our veterans. She wants to see our local economy grow. She supports the environment, our family farms and keeping our hunting and fishing lands in good order. If we have to have development, she doesn’t want developers coming into the area without guaranteeing they pay their fair share of infrastructure costs. Last but certainly not least, she feels we have got to do better with our healthcare.
I support Jean Marie Christenson as a bright and energetic leader for our district.

Dear FriendsHere is how it happened:
Two weeks ago, while Representative Tom Campbell and I were on a tour of Jim’s-U-Fish at Old McDebbie’s Farm in Spanaway {(253) 875-0356}, Representative Campbell shared with me about his friends, the Baron family, who had 14 children; and Laura Baron, the Mom, had just been diagnosed with stage 4 cancer. He wanted to help them, and asked if I would like to help? I said, “Yes.”
One of the first things to do was advertise the event, and besides the usual media outlets, I suggested to him that he contact both Stephany Ray at MastersConnection and Steve Klein’s Blog, which he did. Both Stephany and Steve were kind enough to put the word out.
The “Laura Baron Benefit Fundraiser and Auction” held at the Great American Casino in Lakewood on Saturday, January 13, was a great success … and tons of fun for one-and all.
